Dear Parents and Guardians,
It is time to schedule your children’s Parent/Teacher Conference. We will use on-line scheduling for grades K-5. Conferences will be held in your child’s classroom. Conference dates are: February 4, 9 and 11. The Scholastic Book Fair will run the same hours as our conferences. At this time, on-line scheduling is available to reserve a time with your child’s homeroom teacher only. If you require time with another teacher, please contact them directly. Please use the following link:: http://www.ptcfast.com/schools/Woodland_Elementary_School If for some reason you need to change a conference time, simply log in to the program and you will be given directions on how to choose a new time from available slots. If you do not have internet access or can’t get the site to work, please contact us via phone at 763-315-6400 and we will assist you in scheduling your conference time. We look forward to seeing you in October. Sincerely, Toni Beckler Jill Metil Principal Assistant Principal and the Kindergarten Team! Levy kids have PE on odd days, Lund kids have PE on even days. Monday-No School! Tuesday-day 1 Wednesday-day 2 Thursday-day 3 Friday-day 4 What's Happening This Week? We will continue to focus on analyzing story elements: character(s), setting, problem and solution, as well as summarizing and synthesizing to enhance our understanding of a story. Our letter of the week is Uu. We will practice writing the letter, making the short "U" sound, identifying and making words with the letter Uu. We will continue our work on Unit 3 in math. This unit reviews and builds upon children's knowledge of numbers 1-10. We have been talking a lot about odd and even numbers during our Morning Meetings, and the kids know to look at the digit in the ones place to identify if a number is even or odd. Reminder: Math homework comes home on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and is always due the following day. Thank you to everyone who sent back their winter writing journals! It has been fun listening to what everyone did over the break! We will finish going through them all soon and send them home for you to keep. We had a chance to explore all of the things available within the program, in an effort to prepare for an upcoming lesson where the kids will analyze story elements from a familiar book using a Kidspiration graphic organizer. We will work in the lab a few times over the next two weeks to complete our documents. |
