We FINALLY got to celebrate the 100th Day of Kindergarten! We participated in a few fun activities, and even had a special snack! The kids wrote about what they will have accomplished in 100 years, and we "aged" their photos to show them what they might look like when they are 100 years old! Enjoy the fun photos from our day below!

Another snow day has fallen upon us... With what seems to be a record number of days without school, what are you all doing to keep everyone busy? We thought it would be fun to post some “Snow Day” or even “Cold Day” photos of our class! Please send some photos to us via Remind or directly to Mrs. Levy at [email protected] We will set up a photo gallery for everyone to enjoy! We are learning about Wood and Paper in science! The kids were very excited to learn about some different kinds of wood today: Basswood, Pine, Redwood, Plywood and Particleboard. We will spend time talking about their origin, uses, and similarities and differences between the different types of wood. We will work on making predictions, making observations and carrying out a few experiments with wood and paper over the next two weeks. Valentine's Day was a lot of fun in kindergarten! We passed out valentine cards to our classmates in the morning, then after some school work, recess, lunch, and a little more work, we had our grade level party! Much like our Fall Party, the children paired up with one or two other classmates and were able to move freely among our kindergarten classrooms and the cafeteria. They played games, ate a snack, and even got tattoos or stamps! Thank you again to our amazing volunteers-the kids had a blast! After a VERY extended weekend, we used our one day with our class this week to go on a field trip to the Children's Museum of Minnesota! Thank you to all the parents who volunteered your time-we really appreciated it, and the kids loved all the special attention! If you volunteered with us and haven't had a chance to share your photos, please text, email or send them through Remind to Jody, and we will be sure to post them here. No school Monday, due to a teacher workshop day, but we are looking forward to getting back in the swing of things with our students again on Tuesday, February 5th. Don't forget, conferences will be on Tuesday, Feb. 5 (the make-up day for Tuesday, 1/29), Wednesday, February 6 (stayed the same) and Tuesday, February 12 (make-up day for Thursday, January 31). We look forward to meeting with you again! |
