The Brooklyn Park fire department is hosting an open house celebration-Here is the link: http://www.brooklynpark.org/mobile/events/fire-department-60th-anniversary-open-house/ We hope you can make it! You have probably heard that we had been incubating 24 chicken eggs in the kindergarten classrooms. We had 12 of the eggs in our room, and Mrs. Saba had an incubator with the other dozen. On Monday, we had a lot of excitement as eggs were hatching THROUGHOUT the day! We ended up hatching 19 out of 23 viable eggs (one was not fertile). The chicks are adorable, and will stay in the kindergarten wing for a couple weeks before they take the trip back to the farmer we procured them from last month. As the year wraps up, we find that we have many fun pictures that don't necessarily fit in any particular blog post. Please check this post for photos (much like our We STILL Love to Read and New Month, New Routine posts) as we will drop fun miscellaneous pictures in that post when we come across them. We were visited by Kayden's grandparents the other day, and they read two fun stories to our class. Thanks for stopping in!
We visited the school WET (Woodland Eagle Trail) Lab the other day to get some fresh air and plant a few tamarack trees. The kids enjoyed the time we spent in the WET Lab, and we look forward to visiting our trees as they grow and change! Visit our Woodland Kindergarten Blog to see photos from the Fire Department visit-it was AWESOME!
We have had a couple wood tick sightings in the kindergarten wing over the past week. Please check your children for ticks, as we spend lots of time outside each day. Thank you!
Every month, we have added a new component to our calendar routine. This month, we have added student helpers for calendar time. Two different kids will help with our calendar activities each day. We will update often with pictures of our helpers! |
