Our second trimester is off to a great start! We are learning about even and odd numbers, sequencing events, determining text importance and so much more! Mrs. Moe, our building's GE (Gifted Education) teacher, visited our class last week to teach us about our brains and how mistakes actually help our brains grow. We worked on drawings of things the kids can do now, and something that they can't do yet. On Friday, the fluffy snow outside the window was hard to ignore, so we ran out to catch a few snowflakes on our tongues! This Friday, our school is hosting a Waffle Breakfast (we have two each year-the next will be in May). It is from 8:30-9:30, and families are invited to come in with their children for a tasty breakfast at school! HERE is the link to more information about the Waffle Breakfast! One other fun event that will occur on Friday is our ALL-School Sing-Along. This is another bi-annual event, with the second Sing-Along scheduled for the last week of school. Families are invited to join us from 10:00-11:00 in the gym as we sing a variety of holiday-themed songs lead by our music teachers and highlighting various grade levels. PLEASE NOTE: This is a popular event. Students need to sit with their class, and chairs will be set up in the back of the gym for guests. Additionally, there is a little downtime between the Waffle Breakfast and the Sing-Along. Because teachers need to make sure all students are accounted for, relay important morning information and work with the kids on following through with their morning routines, parents may not accompany their children to their classrooms and wait for the sing-along to begin. Thank you for understanding! We are excited for a great week of school!
