The building earned a Beach Day! Mrs. Beckler challenged the students to "block out the snow", and earn enough SOAR slips to cover the windows in the front of the building a couple of weeks ago, and we did it! Although there will NOT be a beach field trip, kids can dress in school-appropriate beach wear (Hawaiian shirts, sundresses, sandals...). Please keep the weather in mind-kids could wear sweatpants or leggings under their shorts, long sleeves under tank tops or sundresses...they can change into sandals once at school...they will be going outside to recess, and our warm smiles will not be enough to keep the shivers away!
We also sent home some Spring Break homework today (please pardon the typo on the pink informative sheet). Much like the Winter Break Journal, we want the kids to work on their writing every day of the break. Since we have been working on writing complete sentences, please encourage them to write at least one complete sentence (sound spelling is OK!) about each day. Have a wonderful break! From what they kids have shared, MANY of you will be traveling-we wish you safe travels and hope all of you make many happy memories, no matter where you are!

Your children may have been talking about the recent updates to our fish tank...the work is now complete! We found some fun pieces to make our tank really special (including the class suggestions of Mt. Wannahawkaloogi and the tiki statues from Finding Nemo). The fish seem to be enjoying their upgraded living space, and the kids love checking in on them! The backdrop was designed by some of our very own kindergarteners. :-) |
