To all of our students and families, past and present, we understand the variety of feelings and emotions revolving around the recent news that the stay-at-home order will continue through the end of the 2019-20 school year. We know Distance Learning continues to evolve and families have been working hard to adapt throughout the process to the requests of different schools, teachers and their own schedules. We know that everyone's challenges and successes are different, and we want you to know that we, too, are finding challenges and successes every day. One challenge in particular is the inability to maintain connections with our students (current AND former). We are energized and delighted by the kids we work with, those who stop by in the mornings, help out in the afternoons and the many kids we get smiles, check-ins, high-fives and hugs from throughout the days at school. With the knowledge that these connections can not happen (in that way) for the remainder of the school year, we want to make sure you ALL know that ANY of your children (and YOU!) can 'stop in' and visit us during our office hours, and if our office hours are not convenient with your schedules, you can email us and we will set something up at a different time. Here is our office hour information: Mrs. Levy 8:20-9:00 AM and 3:00-4:00 PM daily Google Meet Code: meet.google.com/tga-fqht-jaf Google Meet Phone Number: 1-442-900-4175 PIN: 150 416 298# Mr. Lund 12:00-2:00 PM daily Google Meet Code: meet.google.com/vrg-ngha-yar Google Meet Phone Number: 1-904-322-8410 PIN: 592 840 205# One fun suggestion for a visit would be to play one of us in a virtual game of Connect Four! (See the photo below for an example-a quick number label at the top of each column is all you'll need.) You can help your child set up their own board, but if you do not have one, we will have our own ready to go, and we will make it work!

Here is the LINK to our Kindergarten Weekly Newsletter. Please refer to the previous post about our daily expectations, and don't hesitate to reach out to us with questions or concerns.
Looking forward to a great week! https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1QZOzxgu_VTeVkVGeo37Qx0qqlp99dDBup_3v4CRvnwY/edit **If you haven't registered your child on SeeSaw yet, please try to complete the process today! Hi Everyone!
We understand you have all probably been overwhelmed by emails and other communication from us, the district, other children's teachers and more. We appreciate how hard you are working to maintain a school setting in your homes in addition to the many other jobs you need to complete while at home. To help simplify a bit, we will post the minimum requirements for our classroom here, so you can hopefully feel a little more connected. REQUIRED DAILY EXPECTATIONS (EVERY DISTANCE LEARNING SCHOOL DAY): 1. Sign in your child using the attendance link. 2. Select and complete 2-3 activities from the Kindergarten Flex Learning Board (the boards are emailed to you every Monday for the week). 3. Post something (photo, video, drawing, attachment) showing some of your child's work at least once a week on SeeSaw. If you are having trouble with SeeSaw, you can email us a photo, video or attachment of your child's work instead. All other websites, apps and activities are OPTIONAL. Hopefully this information is helpful, but if you have questions please don't hesitate to reach out to Jody or Scott with questions. At this time, we do NOT have a routinely scheduled class Google Meet day or time, but if that changes, we will inform you through Remind, email and on this site. Thanks again for all you are doing! Hi Everyone! Our first week of Distance Learning is winding down. Hopefully you are all finding ways to balance everything at home, and making time to enjoy your families and the outdoors! This week, we started taking daily attendance. Thank you for making sure to sign in every school day so we can accurately report attendance for our classroom. If your household is NOT receiving emails from Mr. Lund and/or Mr. Nelson (the principal), PLEASE let Mrs. Levy know by emailing her at [email protected] We will have your email address added to the group mailing list. As you may know, next week is the district's scheduled Spring Break. We will not have office hours available on Google Meet next week, and the students DO NOT have a flex learning board for the week of April 6-10. If you want to continue with a school schedule next week, that is totally up to you, and we will still try to answer emails and messages as they come in. We will NOT be taking attendance next week. Starting on Monday, April 13, Distance Learning will start back up, and we will send an attendance link as well as a weekly newsletter with all the information you should need for the week. Families on Marco Polo, feel free to continue sharing videos, even during Spring Break. We have a feeling the kids will be checking in on each other! One last thing! We know kids have been recording all their reading minutes on our yellow reading calendars. If you would like to scan or take a photo of their completed March calendars and share them with Mrs. Levy through Remind, email, text or even Marco Polo, we will keep the information and you can recycle the March calendars (one less paper to hang on to!). Thank you all for everything you are doing! |
